This is an important idea for the public population to understand. One of the first strategies in war is to divide and conquer your opponent. The government and media have been doing this to us for decades. This American, that American… Color, race, height, weight, sex, pick whatever you want. The reality is we are all different. That is the problem with celebrating diversity. Finding common ground is what will bring us together and remove barriers.
Think about it, if you have something in common with someone it is easier to be their friend. I’m sure that is why the constitution starts with “We the people”. At the end of the day we are all people.
Try it at work school or wherever you meet new people. Make a point to try and find a couple of things that you have in common with someone else.
United we stand, divided we fall, is an age old truth.
